Grimace

Grimace (Jim Lees) was born in LA and grew up between the States and the UK. The former hiphop producer found himself immersed in the burgeoning drum and bass scene in England, captivated by both the electric sound and energetic culture. Following a period of producing drum&bass, Grimace moved to Sydney in 2006. It was in Australia that Grimace discovered his passion for dubstep and began his journey as an artist. The talented producer has never looked back, quickly evolving his own unique style and sound. Grimace brings a unique approach to dubstep through his lasting affinity with jungle / dnb.

Recently emerging out of the rapidly growing Sydney dubstep scene, Grimace has several releases already under his belt and a plethora of projects in the pipeline. His roots reggae-fuelled dubstep track ‘Slew Dem’ (originally released on Inna Riddim Records) was included on the Ministry of Sound / Universal Sound of Dubstep compilation; and this latest track on Panoramic EP Vol. 1, ‘Away From Me’, is featured on the Sony BMG / One Love mix CD Dubstep Invasion Vol. 2.
